Description

This is a gift/trade for Twiwolf, of her character Verenia Rinta. I struggled with the mane and lighting, but finally after a little while I was able to get both to work out in a way that made the horse look rather lovely. Overall I like this picture, and think its one of my best as far as manes/tails, and lighting go. I love the overall pose because its almost like the horse is coming around the bend to canter down the hill going, "ermergod" I LOVE LIFE!

For vision I gave you 4 stars. I love how you have the horse at a different angle. Most people are afraid to mess with the angle and just have the horse running flat across the screen. You really put perspective into this piece by blurring the background and part of the foreground.

For originality I gave you 4.5 stars. This piece is quite original as I have seen few like it. You have a great imagination so don't let anything ever cage that in!

For technique I gave you 4 stars. As far as the mane goes it is spot on right to the tips. With the tail possibly add a bit more volume to it. Maybe at the end make it part into a couple pieces. Maybe it is just me but I think it would look better if it came more to a point at the end rather than a flat straight cut. I love your technique with re-painting the body so whatever you are doing there keep doing it! Your foreground and background shading is perfect as far as I can see. Although right underneath of the horses feet maybe not have it blurred quite so much.

For impact I gave you 5 stars. This piece tells a story and there is really no description needed. This pony is obviously on a long journey to a place that he has dreamed of for a long time. He has most likely escaped from his barn and is chasing after something he saw as a young colt. At least that is what I see.
